Mr. Lee “Sunny” Williams, Jr. was born on June 20,1942 to the late Carrie Mae Loadholt Williams and the late Reverend Vonliehe Williams in Miley, South Carolina. He was the fourth of nine children. Sunny, as he was affectionately known by the family, attended the former North District Training School located in Varnville, South Carolina. He relocated to Brooklyn, New York where he would unite into Holy Matrimony with the former Ms. Veta Stephens, in December of 1962. To this union, two children were born.
Later in life, he would join and be baptized at Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York. Sunny worked several jobs including driving trucks; but he eventually became a supervisor over the Cargo Department with American Airlines, Kennedy Airport in Jamaica, New York. He would later retire from this job after twenty plus years.
Sunny departed this earthly life on Monday, February 16, 2026. Six siblings preceded him in death: Leon Williams, Gladys Bradham, Thomas Williams, Lloyd Williams, Oneal Williams, and Lorine Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His devoted and loving wife, Veta Williams; His daughter, Sherron Williams Jeridore of Blythwood, South Carolina; His son, Mark Williams of Islandton, South Carolina; A granddaughter, Autumn Jeridore; and a grandson, Dallas Jeridore; Two siblings: Donald (Juliette) Williams of Varnville, South Carolina and Clinton Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
