In Loving Memory of
Carlyta Jenkins
June 8, 1963 – July 6, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Carlyta Lai Lewis-Jenkins, who departed this life peacefully at her residence on July 6, 2026, at the age of 63.

Born on June 8, 1963, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Carla was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She made her home in Hampton, South Carolina, where she built a life centered on family, service, and compassion.

Carla spent many years as a childcare provider, lovingly caring for countless children and offering comfort and encouragement to the families she served. Her nurturing spirit and gentle heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She treasured her family above all else and leaves to cherish her memory her children: Andre Jenkins, Princess Jenkins, Mateo Cruz (Tina), and Danielle Jenkins-Scott (Troy). She was a proud grandmother to Karley Cruz, Anthony Scott, and Xyion Teague, who brought her great joy.

She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She shared special bonds with her niece Sheree Gordon, nephews Tramaine and Antoan Gordon, and her cousin Brenda Green, whom she loved like a sister.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind. Her warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family will be forever remembered.

Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the cherished memories she created.
