The Obituary
Mr. Owen Xavier Dickson transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 3, 2026. He was born on July 13, 2002, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Dwight Dickson and Falecia.
Owen was a proud 2020 graduate of Spring Hill High School in Chapin, South Carolina. With a zeal for education, he continued his educational enrichment at the University of South Carolina Upstate, Spartanburg before answering the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Pursuant to his enlistment, Owen earned a technical certificate in Bio-Environmental Engineering.
Owen will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, kind heart, and genuine love for people. He especially cherished children, family time, the outdoors, and sports. His love for basketball and football began at an early age through recreational leagues such as the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and Friarsgate Park. He had a gift for making others feel valued.  With a sense of humor, Owen could brighten any room. His specialty, which defined him, was an innate ability for greeting loved ones with a warm hug, a radiant smile, and a heartfelt “Love you!”  With his charismatic personality, Owen never met a stranger.
As a young child, Owen attended Zion Fair Baptist Church and Brookland Baptist Church. He maintained a personal relationship with God and often shared scriptures with family and friends as a source of encouragement and strength.
Owen leaves to cherish his loving memory his parents: Dwight Dickson and Falecia; his brothers: Tyren and Isaiah; his grandparents: Catherine McQuire, Smolosky and Ella Dunbar; his god-sister, Seanna Pierson; his godson, Brayden Wilson. He is also survived by a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends who held a special place in his life, including his best friend, Brandon Wilson.
