The Obituary

Mr. Brian Maurice McQuire peacefully answered the call of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 1, 2026. He was born on July 10, 1970, in Colleton County, South Carolina, to Mr. Elmer and Mrs. Pauline McQuire.

Brian was a proud graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Varnville, South Carolina, Class of 1988. He continued his academic journey at USC–Salkehatchie, Allendale, South Carolina where he graduated in 1990. His pursuit of knowledge led him onward to USC-Aiken, South Carolina where he earned his degree in 1996. Ever committed to growth and learning, Brian later achieved technical certifications from the Technical College of the Lowcountry in 2000.

Brian had a deep love for baseball that began in little league and followed him through high school and college, shaping his discipline and his joy. A gifted jack of all trades, he was especially known for the unique craftsmanship of his carpentry.

He found a deep sense of peace walking the family’s land, especially when he was out searching for arrowheads. Those quiet moments of exploring the soil, uncovering history, and being surrounded by family, afforded him with a calm that settled his spirit.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His parents, Elmer and Pauline McQuire; Two sisters Reverend Yvonne McQuire and Elmesha McQuire; One brother, Brad (Sharon) McQuire; Two nephews: Amari McQuire and Austin McQuire; One niece: Kya McQuire; His aunts: Evangelist Eva (Deacon Clyde) Capers, Margeret (Donell) Manigo, Amanda (Bishop Paul) Capers, Catherine McQuire, Mary Ann Buckner, Thelma Coker, Mildred (Willie) Albany, Edna Ray McQuire, Retha Mae McQuire, Aquilla McQuire, and Vera Mae Campbell; Uncles: Delano McQuire, Angus (Evangelist Elise) McQuire, James L. Hodges; And a host of loving cousins and friends.
