Her Legacy April 15, 1940 – April 20, 2025 Mother Myrtis Dolores Lingard, a beloved servant of God, was born on April 15, 1940, to the late Merlow and Audrey Mingo. On April 20, 2025, she peacefully transitioned from her earthly home at Pruitt Health in Estill, South Carolina, to her eternal rest. Her spiritual journey began on March 27, 1980, when Evangelist Essie Berton delivered a powerful message titled “A Strategy for Survival” from St. John 5:1-5. That day, Sister Myrtis answered the call, went to the altar, and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of her sins. On September 9, 1980, she received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Her commitment to the Lord was affirmed when she was officially fellowshipped into the ministry in November of that same year. Mother Lingard dedicated many years of her life as a professional dietician, serving with compassion and skill in hospitals, nursing homes, and the Hampton County Public Schools. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals, especially her signature Perlow rice, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and her unforgettable dressing. A faithful witness for Christ, she often shared her testimony in the aisles of Food Lion, where she encouraged others with her heartfelt motto: “You need to get in church. Get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. You must be born again.”Every morning at 5:00 a.m., she faithfully joined her church family on the prayer line, standing in the gap for others with unwavering devotion. Mother Lingard was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Nathan Lingard; her parents, Merlow and Audrey Mingo; her brothers, Archie and Rozy Mingo; her brothers-in-law, Martin Woodall and Henry Lee Lingard; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Williams, Margie Campbell, Beulah Rozier, and Janie Clark; her daughter-in-law, Pamela Lingard; and her sons-in-law, Larry Raglon and Allen Davis. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will be cherished by her devoted children: Joseph Lingard of Hampton, SC; David Lingard of Hinesville, GA; Sherily Davis and Marilyn Raglon of Columbus, GA; and Diane (David) Pressley of Anderson, SC. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her memory will also be treasured by her brother, Floyd (Francis) Mingo of York, PA; her sister, Polly Woodall of Palmetto, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her cherished companion and special friend, Sister Lillie Singleton. We also honor the joy and laughter she shared with her friends at the Senior Center, especially those at “Table #6.” Her life was a testimony of faith, love, and service—a true reflection of God’s grace. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
