Brunson- Graveside service for Mrs. Shirley Davis Thomas will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011, 3:00 p.m. at Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery, Hampton, South Carolina. The family will receive friends at the residence located at 4314 Joe Miley Road, Brunson, South Carolina on Tuesday evening 6:00 p.m. until one hour prior to the service on Wednesday

Mrs. Shirley Davis Thomas was born October 11, 1953 in Hampton County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Gilbert Lester Davis and Mrs. Katie Inez Gooding Davis.
Mrs. Thomas attended Hampton Elementary School and was a member of Hampton Church of God, Hampton, South Carolina.
She was a former textile worker and homemaker whose hobbies included fishing and camping.
Mrs. Thomas was married to Mr. James L. Thomas, Sr. for 43 years; and, to this union, four children were born.
Her parents, one sister (Mrs. Linda Gail Craven), one brother (Mr. Gilbert Lester Davis, Jr.), her uncle (Mr. Charles Gooding) and her mother-in-law (Mrs. Dixie Gooding Thomas) all preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories: Her husband, Mr. James L. Thomas, Sr. of the home, (2) Sons: Mr. James L. Thomas, Jr. and Mr. Dalacy D. Thomas (Sharon Hiers, fiancée), all of Hampton, South Carolina; (2) Daughters: Ms. DeeDee M. Thomas and Ms. Tamara G. Thomas, both of Hampton, South Carolina; (5) Grandchildren: Blaze Mucuela, Gabrial Thomas, Mason Thomas, Lawrence D. Thomas, Camron L. Thomas; (1) Sister, Ms. Katie Lou Dobson of Williston, South Carolina; Her aunt, Ms. Viloit Gooding of Hampton, South Carolina; (2) Uncles: Mr. Wilber T. Davis and Mr. Dannal Davis, both of Allendale, South Carolina; (1) Brother-in-law, Mr. Ralf George Thomas of Hampton, South Carolina; Nieces: Ms. Melynda I. Craven and Ms. Katie M. Dobson, both of Hampton, South Carolina, Ms. Bonnie L. Stanfill of Walterboro, South Carolina, and Ms. Melissa R. Greene of Williston, South Carolina; (10) Great nieces and nephews: Ms. Katie A.
