Smoaks-Funeral service for Mr. Gregory Alonzo Williams, 53, of 116 Tara Lane will be held Friday, December 28, 2007, 11:00 A. M Lovely Hill Baptist Church, 408 Augusta Highway, Smoaks, South Carolina.  Interment will follow in Lovely Hill Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 2-8:00 P. M. at the funeral home. Washington’s Funeral Home of Hampton has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.  

Mr. Gregory Alonzo Williams, the son of Mrs. Anna Ruth Williams and the late Mr. James Williams was born July 28, 1954.  On Sunday, December 23, 2007, our beloved “Gregory” surrendered to the will our Maker at his residence in Smoaks, South Carolina.

Mr. Williams was educated by the public school system of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He was a graduate of Overbrook High School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  While in Pennsylvania, he joined Victory Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  After relocating to South Carolina in 1990, Mr. Gregory Alonzo Williams united with Lovely Hill Baptist Church, Smoaks, South Carolina where he served as a member of the Male Chorus.

He was previously employed as a machine operator of Die Plant, Charleston, South Carolina.

“Gregory’s” favorite past time was fishing.

Saddened by his departure and cherishing fond memories are:  His devoted mother, Mrs. Anna R. Williams, Smoaks, South Carolina; His sister, Ms. Ruth Williams of Smoaks, South Carolina; His brother, Mr. James Williams, Jr. of Camden, Delaware; (3) Aunts: Ms. Ethel Goff of Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Ruth Shuler of Jamaica, New York and Ms. Katherine Mosley of Columbia, South Carolina; (1) Niece, Ms. Stephanie Williams of Maryland; (3) Nephews: Mr. Kenneth Williams of Dover, Delaware, Mr. Kevin Williams of Camden, Delaware and Mr. Michael Williams of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Numerous other relatives and caring friends.
 
  

 

Varnville-On Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Oakwood Health Care Center, Walterboro, South Carolina, our Heavenly Father received Mrs. Elizabeth Lingard Williams at 1:45 a.m. She was born January 14, 1930 in Hampton County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Panny Grant and Mrs. Edith Lingard.


She was married to the late Mr. Charlie Williams, Sr. To this union, two sons were born.


Mrs. Elizabeth Lingard Williams received the Lord as her personal Savior early in life. She became a baptized member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina where she sang on the choir. Her favorite song was "This Morning When I Rose". She was baptized in Jesus’ name at Lively Stone Temple Apostolic Faith Church, Islandton, South Carolina and received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend.


Her loving husband, Mr. Charlie Williams, Sr. and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Campbell, preceded Mrs. Elizabeth Lingard Williams in death.


To cherish her memories and mourn her departure are: (2) Sons: Mr. Charles Williams, Jr. (Mrs. Mae) of Deltona, Florida and Mr. Leroy Williams (Mrs. Verlene) of Hampton, South Carolina; (13) Grandchildren; (23) great grand children; (2) Sisters: Ms. Janie Clark and Minister Beulah Rozier, both of Hampton, South Carolina; (2) Brothers: Mr. Henry Lee Lingard and Deacon Joe N. Lingard (Mrs. Myrtis), both of Hampton, South Carolina; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and sympathizing friends.
